Fixed jacuzzis are definitely better, but this gives you the ability to place it right by the lake for a beautiful fall day. As long as you can plug it in and have access to fill it with water you are set! We fill it each time and drain it when we are finished. It takes about a day to heat to the high temperature you are looking for but then it holds it.
